Nicki Minaj and Beyonce gave one of the most Black Women empowering embrace of sexual energy ever!!!
Yes, if you have not watched it, enjoy it here!!!
Last night, Tuesday, 10/21/2015, a gala celebration of the waning live stream service purchased by Shawn Jay-Z Carter, Tidal, finally reaching one million subscribers occurred. The event, billed, “Tidal X: 1020 Amplified by HTC concert” was staged at the Barclays Center. Also on the playbill were, of course, the headlining Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj’s significant other, Meek Mill, Usher, and Rick Ross.
While Nicki Minaj and Beyonce both had their own sets, they decided to present a double combo meal of Black SuperWoman-ness. The both appeared on the stage to perform their hit track, “Feelin’ Myself” and may have indeed broke segments of the internet with the powerful imagery spread about.
Many critics of the performance have labeled the two wonder Divas with respectability politics clad negative tropes. I, personally, am glad the duo decided to appear on stage in the manner they did. I thought Beyonce looked forcefully empowered with her crowning blonde ponytail sashaying to and fro. Nicki also take advantage of her ASSets as her callipygian form bounced to the beat emphatically dramatizing her presence on stage. As I have written elsewhere, Nicki was once under too much male leadership that did not allow her sexuality to breathe. Nicki has brilliantly repositioned herself to fully employ her sexuality in very impacting manner. This stage presentation is a reflection of her branding.
